Welcome to Day 2 of RGPS Bossier City Main Event
The final day of the RunGood Poker Series Bossier City $575 Main Event has arrived.
Three starting flights brought 438 entries out to the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, LA for the $100,000-guaranteed prize pool event, which more than doubled the guarantee as 91 participants waded their way through the field to complete the 12 full Day-1 levels required to advance to Sundays Day 2.
The chip leaders from each initial flight enter Day 2 as the top three in the counts. Flight A chip leader Matt Stroud bagged a total of 288,000 on Friday night, a figure that proved to be best throughout both of the following flights that took place Saturday. Flight C chip leader Mark Burford (257,000) and Flight B chip leader ames Fricker (237,500) come in behind him and have another trio of contestants hot on their tails in Speed Frank (236,500), Suzan Samuels (235,000), and Cedric Jones (234,500).
Other players entering the day with their sights set on victory and the accompanying RGPS Game Seven championship ring include RunGood Ambassadors Ray Henson (168,500) and Preston McEwen (104,500) as well as other faces familiar to the local community such as Pej Niyati (121,500) and Wes Gauthier (137,500).
Forty-five players are set to make it into the money this afternoon, meaning just under half of the returning field will lock up the first-level payout of $986. Play will resume at the beginning of Level 13 (2,000/3,000/3,000), with levels seeing an increase to 45 minutes for Day 2 and 15-minute breaks after every three levels as a result of the increased playing time.
Cards are in the air at noon local time with play scheduled to continue until a champion has been crowned and awarded the winners share of $48,110 and a Signature Rings RGPS championship ring.
