Two More Starting Flights for RGPS Horseshoe Tunica Main Event
The RunGood Poker Series main event at Horseshoe Tunica continues Saturday with two more starting flights.
The first flight is at noon and the second is at 7 p.m.
Friday night, Derrick Contreras bagged the chip lead for the opening flight with 222,000 and will lead 38 other players into Day 2 from that starting flight.
The opening flight got 137 players and both of Saturday's flights are expected to be much larger. The players will start with 20,000 chips and play 12 30-minute levels. There is no dinner break and registration will close at the start of level nine in each starting flight.
The RGPS Tunica main event is usually the largest field of all the RGPS main events and it's looking like that will continue to be the case.
World Series of Poker main event champion Chris Moneymaker will likely be in the field again today, after failing to bag in the opening flight. Mark Lafata, David Hendrix, Tiffany Keathley, and Justin Gardenhire are also expected to be in the field at some point today. Lafata is a regular in the RGPS and Hendrix is a local who makes it to many of the RGPS events at the Horseshoe.
Keathley is a former winner of this very main event and will most likely take at least one more shot at bagging for Day 2.
PokerNews.com will be here throughout the weekend with photos and updates of the event until the newest RGPS main event champion is crowned.
