Why Would Woods Call
Level 6
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Meinrado Cruz opened to 2,100 under-the-gun and was called by five other players to go to a flop of 10?6?9?.
Cruz continued for 2,000 and was called by Jeffrey Griffiths in the hi-jack and Jimmy Woods in the cutoff. The three of them then went to the turn 9?, which Cruz and Griffiths both checked. Woods then announced a bet of 7,000 and both of his opponents folded .
"I almost put you all in," Cruz said to Woods.
"Well what stopped you?" he replied as he raked in the pot.
"I didn't want you to have an eight," said Cruz, to which Woods shook his head and said,"why would I call with an eight on that flop..."
