Brent Harrington Wins Second Championship Ring
Leading into today's inaugural Poker Industry Championship, RunGood Events held an open-to-all preliminary event Monday night: the $135 buy-in 8-Game Mixer. Specifically, the games included: No-Limit Hold'em; Seven Card Stud; Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better; Razz; Pot-Limit Omaha; Limit Hold'em; Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better; and 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.
A total of 52 entries were recorded, with six players taking home a portion of the prize pool. With four players left, an unusual chop was negotiated, with RG Ambassador Justin Gardenhire taking home $1,300. Gardenhire's stack was then removed from play and the remaining three players competed for the title of champion and the custom Signature ring.
Play continued to well past 4 a.m. Tuesday, at the end of which RGPS and PokerNews live reporter Brent Harrington emerged as the event winner. This is Harrington's second championship ring this year, after taking down the RGPS-Tunica PLO Event for $6,838.
