Luciano Takes Monster Chip Lead After Busting Sabbia

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Sabbia got aggressive with a draw and it proved costly.
Mike Sabbia got aggressive with a draw and it proved costly.

The biggest pot by far of the tournament just went down, and William Luciano was the victor.

Luciano opened for 22,000 preflop in the hijack and was called by Paul Fisher (cutoff) and Sabbia (big blind). After the {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop, Luciano bet 33,000, Fisher folded, and Sabbia check-raised to 100,000. Luciano pushed all in, and Sabbia asked for a count. Luciano had about 495,000 more, while Sabbia had 421,000. He decided to make the call.

Sabbia: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Luciano: {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Sabbia had a pair and a flush draw, but only the draw was live since Luciano had two big pair. The {5-Hearts} turn was a brick, as was the {6-Hearts} that followed.

"I was hoping you had ace-king so I had a chance," Sabbia said as he pushed his stack across the table.

FIsher Sends Boone Packing; Chow Ousts Martocci

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Anthony Martocci busted out with {7-}{4-} on a flop of {k-}{q-}{7-} when he couldn't improve against Bob Chow's {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

At another table, Jim Boone's stack was being counted down, and Paul Fisher had him covered. Boone had gotten in with {a-Spades}{5-Spades} and failed to overtake his foe's {9-}{9-}. Fisher now has 235,000 after being down to a few antes just a short while ago.

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Casey Bogus has been unable to find his footing on Day 2.
Casey Bogus has been unable to find his footing on Day 2.

It's been all downhill for former chip leader Casey Bogus, and he's down to a shove or fold stack after Paul Fisher shoved for a very short stack and Bogus reshipped over the top. Chris Scionti called off his stack in the blinds.

Fisher: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Bogus: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Scionti: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}, giving Fisher a boat to survive, while Scionti scooped the side pot against Bogus.
