Whittington Eliminated

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Blake Whittington was just eliminated in a hand where he called off his stack for less than a three-bet all in from Wai Ngai, who was in the small blind and had shoved over an open by the player on the button.

Blake Whittington: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Wai Ngai: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Whittington was way out in front and poised for a double until the flop came {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}. All of a sudden, he found himself needing to fade over one-third of the deck in order to stay alive. The turn {8-Hearts} left him with just three queens to hit Broadway, and he was unable to fill up as the river {3-Spades} hit the felt.

Pupillo Climbing

Level 21 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Nick Pupillo
Nick Pupillo

Gary Herstein had opened from early position and was three-bet by Nick Pupillo to 120,000 out of the small blind. He was in the process of calling, though he only threw out 110,00. The dealer informed him and he corrected the number, bringing a flop of {7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Pupillo fired a continuation-bet of 90,000 and Herstein took about 15 seconds before letting his hand go. With the pot, Pupillo now finds himself with around 860,000, making him one of the largest stacks in the room across the three tables left in play.
