Moscati Blasts the Turn

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Vincent Moscati opened to 55,000 in middle position and was called by Ben Keeline on the button and Brian Menefee in the big blind. The flop came {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{k-Spades} and Menefee checked. Moscati continuation-bet 125,000 and got a fold from Keeline before Menefee called.

The turn fell {4-Clubs} and Menefee checked again. Moscati jammed for his remaining quarter-million, sending Menefee into the tank before finally folding.

Moscati showed {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of snowmen and took down the pot, taking him up to 900K. Meanwhile, Keeline has also shot up to just shy of 2 million after eliminating Nader Wahdan on the hand before with jack-ten suited to pocket sevens.

Rule Finds a Double

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Frederick Rule limped in from early position and Alex Kotliarsky limped behind on the button. Slater Dean raised to 150,000 in the small blind and Rule re-jammed for a little over 250,000. Kotliarsky folded and then Dean called the remainder.

Frederick Rule: {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Slater Dean: {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Two pair came on a runout of {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, leaving Rule's queen kicker best to earn him the double.

Keeline Flips Pelz Out of the Tournament

Level 22 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Ben Keeline
Ben Keeline

Ben Keeline opened to 60,000 in early position and action folded around to Ian Pelz, who re-jammed for around 10 big blinds. Keeline called and the two were off to the races, with Pelz holding two nines to Keeline's ace-king.

A king came on the flop and that was all she wrote for Pelz. Keeline now has over 900K with six tables remaining in play.

Rodriguez Runs Into Big Slick

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
James Rodriguez
James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez open-jammed for around 280,000 in early position and saw Victor Shumway re-jam with a stack that covered slightly, doing so from middle position and forcing folds from everybody behind.

James Rodriguez: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Victor Shumway: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Rodriguez hit neither of his two live cards on the flop {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and the turn {k-Hearts} paired Shumway, leaving Rodriguez drawing dead to the river {a-Clubs} to bring about the overall Day 1 chip leader's elimination from the tournament.
