Sontheimer Increases the Aggression; Badziakouski Chips Up

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer limped the button with {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Steffen Sontheimer in the big blind raised to 330,000 with the {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop brought a bet of 225,000 by Sontheimer and a call by O'Dwyer, creating a pot of more than 1.2 million. On the {9-Hearts} turn, Sontheimer checked and O'Dwyer checked back.

The {Q-Spades} river resulted in a bet of 750,000 by Sontheimer with his seven-high and O'Dwyer folded.

Mikita Badziakouski opened to 180,000 with the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} in the cutoff and Sontheimer called with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked by Badziakouski and Sontheimer bet small for just 140,000, Badziakouski called.

The {6-Clubs} turn went check, check, and the {7-Spades} river triggered a bet worth 650,000 into a pot of 830,000 by Badziakouski. Sontheimer used one time bank extension and called to see the bad news.

Chan Denied a Double

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

A raise by Rui Cao with the {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} was called by Mikita Badziakouski with the {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and the latter check-called a bet of 125,000 on the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. On the {10-Hearts} turn, both players checked and the {8-Clubs} fell on the river. Badziakouski checked and folded to a bet of 250,000.

Cao raised to 130,000 with the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} first to act and called the shove of Wai Leong Chan for , who was at risk for the 580,000 with the {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}.

The board came {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and the straight on the board chopped up the pot.

Sontheimer Takes from Badziakouski

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Rui Cao opened to 125,000 with the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} from the button and Ivan Leow defended the {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. On the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Leow checked and Cao bet 175,000 to rake in the pot right there.

Peter Jetten did the same with {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} against the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and check-folded the {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop to a bet of 90,000 as well. Right after that new T-100,000 chips were introduced.

Mikita Badziakouski raised to 130,000 with the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} first to act and Steffen Sontheimer called from one seat over with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The flop fell {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Badziakouski continued for 140,000, Sontheimer called.

On the {9-Spades} turn, Badziakouski fired 400,000 and Sontheimer called. The {5-Hearts} river was checked and Sontheimer pulled further away at the top of the leader board.

Manig Loeser Eliminated in 8th Place (HKD2,015,000/$256,681)

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Manig Loeser - Mikita Badziakouski
Manig Loeser - Mikita Badziakouski

On the button, Manig Loeser raised to 150,000 and Mikita Badziakouski in the small blind three-bet to 500,000. Steffen Sontheimer in the big blind asked for his stack size and folded, Loeser four-bet all in for 1,325,000 and Badziakouski called.

Manig Loeser: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Mikita Badziakouski: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop changed nothing much, while Loeser picked up a gutshot and flush draw with the {3-Clubs} turn. A blank {8-Diamonds} on the river reduced the field to the last seven hopefuls, while Loeser headed to the rail to collect HKD2,015,000 ($256,681) for his efforts.

Jetten Jams Into Cao; O'Dwyer Doubles Through Loeser

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Rui Cao opened to 125,000 in the cutoff with {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Peter Jetten defended the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} in the big blind. On the {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Jetten checked and moved all in over the top of a 100,000-bet by Cao, forcing an instant fold.

Two hands later, a battle of the blinds emerged and Steve O'Dwyer raised to 200,000 with the {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Manig Loeser came along from the big blind with the {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The flop fell {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and O'Dwyer checked, Loeser bet 175,000 and O'Dwyer check-raised all in for 1,060,000. Loeser asked for a count with the words "I am not folding, but can I get a count?" then made the call with his top pair.

The {9-Hearts} turn gave O'Dwyer an inferior pair, while the {A-Clubs} river improved him to the flush and ensured the second double in a short time.

Wai Leong Chan moved all in for 815,000 with the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Mikita Badziakouski reshoved with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Chan had a back door sweat on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, but the {A-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river were no threat.

Peter Jetten opened to 120,000 first to act with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Ivan Leow in the big blind three-bet to 335,000 with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}. Jetten let his shot clock run down and folded, then tapped the table in defeat.
