Katz Raise-Folds, Dodges Aces

Level 20 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Cary Katz was down to just 375,000 when he peeled {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} in the hijack. He made it 100,000 to go only to see his neighbour Anthony Zinno bumped the prize with a pot-size three-bet, which exactly covered Katz' stack.

Action folded to Katz and he laid his hand down, leaving himself with just 5.5 big blinds. He avoided a distaster as Zinno had {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

Gorodinsky Closing the Gap

Level 20 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Andjelko Andrejevic opened to 125,000 from early position with the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Mike Gorodinsky called on the button with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} and Andrejevic's continuation bet of 175,000 was called by Gorodinsky.

Gorodinsky hit his broadway draw when the {a-Clubs} fell on the turn and after Andrejevic checked, Gorodinsky fired a bet worth 525,000 to win the pot.

Gorodinsky Makes a Tough Call to Chop

Level 20 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Andjelko Andrejevic ({A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}) raised to 125,000 from the cutoff and Mike Gorodinsky ({Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}) defended his big blind. Andrejevic caught top two on the {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop while Gorodinsky had an open-ended straight draw in addition to his overpair. Both players, however, checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Gorodinsky now had a straight. He led out 120,000, earning a call from his opponent.

The {9-Hearts} river was a tricky card for Gorodinsky who checked to Andrejevic. Andrejevic bet 300,000, and while both players had the same straight, Gorodinsky faced a tough decision. He burned another time extension but eventually made the call, chopping with Andrejevic.

Zinno Doubles Through Gorodinsky

Level 19 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Mike Gorodinsky opened to 110,000 from middle position with the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and called a three-bet "pot" all-in bet from Anthony Zinno on the button holding the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Gorodinsky nailed the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop spiking a straight but Zinno did have outs to a flush. Zinno wouldn't have to wait long as the {k-Clubs} on the turn gave him the flush and the {9-Clubs} on the river secured the double up.

Andrejevic Bluffs Into a Full House

Level 19 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Mike Gorodinsky was in the cutoff and he kicked off the action, raising to 110,000 with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}. His left-hand opponent Cary Katz flatted with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} and big blind Andjelko Andrejevic came along with {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

All players checked the {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop as well as the {5-Diamonds} turn before the {4-Diamonds} river improved Gorodinsky into a full house. Andrejevic, however, decided to have a shot at stealing the pot and led out 275,000. Gorodinsky burned one of his time banks before calling and taking the sizeable pot.

Kirsch Gets Some Back

Level 19 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Four players went to a cheap flop with Richard Kirsch ({a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Rainer Kempe ({a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}), and Anthony Zinno ({9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}) all limping in allowing Andjelko Andrejevic to check his option holding the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Both Zinno and Kirsch flopped flushes with the {5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop yet all four players checked. The {2-Hearts} hit on the turn and Zinno bet 65,000. Kirsch just flatted bringing the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

Both checked again and Kirsch won the pot.

Kempe Loses Some More to Andrejevic

Level 19 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Andjelko Andrejevic has been pulling the strings so far and he recently claimed another pot to extend his lead. Andrejevic opened the button to 100,000 with {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} and found a customer in big blind Rainer Kempe who defended his {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

The {Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop saw both players hit the top pair. Kempe checked to Andrejevic who continued for 125,000. Kempe called before the {6-Spades} turn slowed the action as both players tapped the paired board. No bets were made on the {8-Diamonds} river either and Andrejevic's king-jack bested Kempe's king-ten. Kempe slipped to the fifth place on the leader board.
