Andrejevic Takes Out Tucker in a Stunner

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Andy Andrejevic
Andy Andrejevic

Andy Andrejevic knocked out Bronson Tucker in a 2.6 million-chip pot, and it was the previous hand that may have had some influence on the way it went down, so let's start there.

On the first hand, Andrejevic raised to 45,000 from early position. Cord Garcia called from middle position, and Mark Eddleman, who was in late position and had the biggest stack at the table, called as well. The flop was {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Andrejevic bet 80,000, which was enough to get Garcia to fold. Eddleman raised to 164,000, and Andrejevic called. The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Andrejevic checked. Eddleman bet 381,000. Andrejevic checked back at his hole cards before threw them into the middle for a fold, but he was visibly a little frustrated with having to do so.

Fast forward to the very next hand, Andrejevic opened for 45,000 again, this time from under the gun. Eddleman called, and Tucker, who has previously won the River Poker Series Main Event, reraised to 120,000. Andrejevic would not be swayed so easily, and he four-bet to 345,000. The action was back on Eddleman, and he decided to fold. Then the action fell back to Tucker. Tucker didn't take long to shove all of his remaining 1.267 million chips into the middle. Andrejevic snapped.

The two players turned over their hands, and Andrejevic revealed the bad news to Tucker when tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Tucker was shocked and behind with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The board provided no help for Tucker, as it came {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and he was eliminated. To be sure of the count, the dealer had to double check the chips to be sure, since both players had over 1.2 million. Tucker eventually turned to walk out, visibly shaken by what had just happened, and with that hand Andrejevic shot to the chip lead.
