Salvatore Commisso Leads partypoker Canadian Grand Prix Field into Day 2
After 11 live starting flights at Playground Poker Club and countless online satellites via partypoker, the 16th event of the World Cup of Cards is one step closer to crowning a champion. A total of 323 players qualified for Day 2 of Event #16: $109 partypoker Canadian Grand Prix, vying for their share of the massive $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Registration, however, will remain open until the start of day two, giving players who were unable to qualify in the $109 flights a chance to buy-in into Day 2 directly for a price of $1,100. Those players will start the day in the money and receive a starting stack of 200,000.
The field will be chasing Day 1i chip leader Salvatore Commisso. Commisso bagged a stack of 872,000 to top the leaderboard. Fellow Day 1i qualifier Bharat Shetty is second on the board with 745,500. Online qualifier Michael Stannard (668,500), David Lanthier (656,000), and Mathieu Massicotte-Lecompte (627,500) round out the big stacks.
There are 14, 40-minute levels scheduled for Sunday. Blinds will revert back to the 2k/4k level with an ante of 500 to start the day.
