Big Pocket Pairs Collide

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

Pritchard opened for 800 from the hijack and Russell Thomas called him from the cutoff. Tam Truong then three-bet to 2,500 from the button, both blinds folded, and Pritchard four-bet to 6,800. Thomas got out of the way, Truong called, and the flop came down {6-Spades}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Pritchard bet 5,600, Truong popped it to 13,000, and Pritchard thought for a bit before making the call. When the {2-Clubs} appeared on the turn, Pritchard check-called a bet of 15,000 and then both players checked the {A-Diamonds} river.

Truong tabled the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for jacks, but it was no good as Pritchard had been ahead the entire time with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Without the king on the flop or an ace on the river for that matter there's no telling how big this pot could have gotten.
