Smith Doubles Through Gross

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

From the hijack seat, Asa Smith raised to 8,500. Jeff Gross reraised to 19,500 on the button, and then play moved back over to Smith. He tanked for a long time and then moved all for 83,500. Gross asked for a count and began to think.

"That Hollywood act might get you a call," said Gross. "I have a feeling you're going to show me aces."

After few moments passed and then Gross commented, "This is my favorite hand," as he made the call.

Gross tabled the {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, but he was dominated by Smith's {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, and Smith doubled up.

"Why couldn't you have king-queen?" said Gross after the hand.
