Monroe Acting Very Deliberately

Twice in the last half hour, players at Teddy Monroe's table have called the clock on him. First, he tanked for three minutes in the big blind facing an opening preflop raise from Payman Arjang. Cornel Andrew Cimpan finally said, "Nothing personal Teddy, but I'm gonna have to call a clock."

Monroe replied, "You do what you gotta do. But if you do that, we're done. You're dead to me. And I won't ever forget." Cimpan called the clock anyway, prompting Monroe to muck his hand.

More recently, Monroe and Arjang limped into a pot from the blinds. Both checked the {8-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {5-Spades} flop. Monroe bet 26,000 when the turn came {10-Hearts}, a bet which Arjang called. On the river {8-Spades}, Monroe bet 27,000. Arjang quickly raised to 82,000, sending Monroe into the tank once again. After two minutes, Peter Feldman approached TD Matt Savage and asked for a clock. Savage informed Monroe that he had one minute to make a decision.

"Someone call the clock on me again?" asked a surprised Monroe. Savage nodded, and for the second time Monroe folded. He remains short, with about 270,000. Arjang has 1.55 million.
