The Number One Player in the World (For a Day) Doubles
Peter Jetten opened to 3,200 on the button, and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier three-bet jammed for 8,100 from the big blind. Jetten called, and the hands were opened.
Jetten's was slightly behind Grospellier's , and Grospellier held as the board ran out .
The dealer accidentally counted out an extra thousand from Grospellier's stack - a mistake that was fixed by Jason Mercier.
"He's the number one player in the world," Jetten joked. "He doesn't need an extra thousand."
Indeed, Grospellier surpassed Mercier on the Global Poker Index rankings yesterday, but Mercier, formerly the number one ranked player, doesn't seem impressed.
"He's been number one for a day," he added, grinning.
