Liou Leads Into Day 2; Registration Open Until Start of Day
After a massive turnout of over 1,500 entries from the two starting flights here in at the Horseshoe Hammond Casino for the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event, just 318 players remain. Leading them all is Phillip Liou with 347,500 in chips after a very impressing showing on Day 1b.
Liou proved to be the only player capable of amassing over 300,000 in chips, and it will be Mike Leah as his closest competitor. Leah bagged up on 276,100 on Day 1a. Other notable big stacks include Mukul Pahuja (261,400), Ashly Butler (255,800) and Nick Grippo (205,800).
The field still could see some more entries into the event as registration will remain open until the start of Day 2, which plans to have the cards in the air at noon local time. How many players take this option is still anybody's guess, but it could add another handful of players into the mix.
