Jivkov Reigns Supreme

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Nick Jivkov on Day 1.

Nick Jivkov is like a chip magnet. The three-time ring winner and WSOP gold bracelet holder has went on an incredible run and now appears to be the chip leader.

We didn't catch the hand that got him up to 800,000, but he was kind enough to tell us about it. According to him, a player opened for a standard raise and he called from the big blind with {K-}{J-}. The {J-}{3-}{5-} flop saw Jivkov check-raise his opponent's 22,000 bet up to 56,000, a call was made and a {K-} turned. From there Jivkov led out for 68,000 and then snap-called with his two pair when his opponent, who ended up having {A-}{9-} moved all in.

And that is the story of how our current chip leader came to reign supreme.
