David Names Eliminated by Scotty Nguyen

Kevin Kim raised to 70,000, Stig Tap Rasmussen called, Scotty Nguyen called from the cutoff and David Names called from the big blind. The flop was {J-Spades}

. Everyone checked over to Nguyen, who bet 120,000. Names moved all in for 535,000, Kim folded, Rasmussen folded, and Nguyen called.

Names showed {J-Diamonds}

for two pair while Nguyen turned over {J-Clubs}

for top pair and a gutshot straight draw. The {10-Spades}

spiked on the turn, making Nguyen a higher two pair and the crowd went wild. The river was the {3-Spades}

and Names was eliminated.

Interestingly enough, Rasmussen claimed to have folded pocket eights and would have made a straight on the turn. He thought about calling "just to gamble" but decided to fold since Nguyen had to act behind him.

"If I call do you fold?" Rasmussen asked of Nguyen. Nguyen said he would have.
