Hand #78 - John Conkright

Devin Porter has the button in Seat 1. Porter opens the pot for 55,000. John Conkright reraises all in for 296,000, folding Rep Porter. Devin Porter calls and we're off to the races.

Porter: {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}
Conkright: {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}

The flop comes {5-Hearts} {3-Spades} {A-Diamonds} to make a pair of aces for Conkright and give him the lead. The turn and river are no help for Porter, as they come {5-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} to make a full house, aces full of fives, for Conkright. He doubles up.

Hand #77 - John Conkright

Nathan Templeton has the button in seat 6. Devin Porter completes from the small blind. John Conkright announces "all in" from the big blind. Porter folds after about 30 seconds and John Conkright wins the pot.

Hand #75 - Rep Porter

Rep Porter has the button in seat 3 and he raises to 45,000. Anatoly Shilyuk thinks a bit, then moves all in from the small blind for 138,000. The other get out of the way and the players show:

Porter: {3-Clubs} {3-Spades}
Shilyuk: {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

Once again, the gallery is on their feet here in the Milwaukee's Best Light Final Table Area. Porter and Shilyuk are standing as well, both smiling. Porter has Shilyuk well covered so it will by Shilyuk's tournament life on the line.

The flop comes {J-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Porter's legion of fans applaud while Shilyuk's grow uneasy. The tournament director explains that Shilyuk will need to catch a king, an eight, running clubs, or running double board pair to stay alive in the hand.

The turn comes the {4-Clubs}, easily the best card Shilyuk could see without taking the lead outright. Now Shilyuk can catch a king, an eight, a jack, or a club to survive and double up.

When the dealer finally got the go-ahead, she quickly lays down the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Porter's pocket threes hold up as he breaks the 2 million chip mark. Anatoly Shilyuk is eliminated in 5th place and takes home $70,859 to show for it.

Hand #73 - Anatoly Shilyuk

Devin Porter has the button in seat 1. Anatoly Shilyuk is first to act and he moves all in. Nathan Templeton folds and Devin Porter asks for a count. After a count, it is determined that Shilyuk is all in for 168,000. Porter eventually folds as do the remaining players. Anatoly Shilyuk wins the pot.

Is This the Same Tournament?

Day 1 and Day 2 of this tournament saw eliminations come in waves. We played from 1,236 to 71 in 10 hours on Thursday, and from 71 to the final 6 in just eight and a half hours on Day 2. Yet two hours into play today, we have lost just one player, and the aggressive raising and reraising that dominated play on Day 1 and Day 2 has dissipated. For most of today, the players have been just passing the blinds and antes around the table.
