Lamar Wilkinson survived an all-in confrontation against Mickey Appleman. Wilkinson was the first aggressor from the small blind, raising to 7,000. Appleman, sitting in the big blind, re-raised to 14,000. Wilkinson moved in for 3,000 more and Appleman called.
Both players drew one car. Wilkinson opened 9-8-6-4 and squeezed out a trey for a hand of 9-8. Appleman opened a very live hand, 8-7-6-2, but squeezed out an ace to give Wilkinson the pot and the double-up to about 38,000.
