Ahmadi's Two Pair on the River is Good

Barry Greenstein raises to 40,000 and Karlo Lopez calls behind. Ylon Schwartz calls and Bahador Ahmadi also calls.

The flop is {4-Clubs} {J-Spades} {2-Hearts}. Ahmadi leads for 20,000 and it's folded to Schwartz, who raises to 40,000.

The {7-Spades} falls on the turn and Ahmadi check-calls a 40,000 bet.

The river is the {9-Spades} and Ahmadi checks again. This time Schwartz checks behind, which is a good thing as Ahmadi has rivered two pair with {J-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}; it's good enough for the pot.

Schwartz Gets Off the Schnide

In our first significant pot of the day, Karlo Lopez raised from late position and Ylon Schwartz called from the big blind.

Schwartz then check-called a flop of {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, and check-raised the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. He bet dark on the river, which brought the {J-Spades}, and Lopez thought for a few seconds before making the call.

Schwartz turned of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a straight, and Lopez mucked his ace-king face up.

A Slow Start

The players don't seem all that aggressive at the start of today's action. It's hard to tell if they're tired or are just taking awhile to get in gear, but at this point, we've only seen two flops as most hands are being won with just a single preflop raise.

One Shy at the Start

It looked like we were starting today's action two players short as neither Ylon Schwartz or Matthew Woodward had shown with just minutes to go until the start.

Now, we're just one player down as Schwartz slipped into his seat with just seconds to spare before cards got in the air. There's still been no sign of Woodward though.
