David "ODB" Baker Eliminated in 6th Place ($79,002)

David Baker 6th Place
David Baker 6th Place

David "ODB" Baker moved all in from under the gun and was called by Huy Nguyen in the hijack. The rest of the field got out of the way and it was off to the races.

Showdown
Baker: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Nguyen: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Baker was the one at risk and in need of improvement, but he was put in a bad spot when the flop fell {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give Nguyen a set. Baker, who won a bracelet in Event 37: $2,500 Eight-Game Mix and finished tenth in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship (not to mention two other final tables), needed running cards to stay alive, and the {3-Clubs} turn made it a possibility as he picked up a flush draw.

The crowd was on its feet as the cameras rolled. The dealer burned one last time and put out the river . . . {K-Diamonds}. It was no help to Baker and he exited the tournament in sixth place and another accomplishment on his already impressive 2012 WSOP rsum.

Keikoan Finds Value on the River

Action folded to Matt Keikoan on the button and he raised to 50,000, which David "ODB" Baker called from the big blind. Both players proceeded to check the {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop and {Q-Clubs} turn, before Baker check-called a bet of 100,000 on the {J-Diamonds} river.

Keikoan tabled {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for two pair, which inspired Baker to muck.

Both players checked and the turn came {4-Spades}. Keikoan check-called 63,000 and the river came {6-Hearts}. Both players checked again and Keikoan tabled pocket queens to win the pot.

Nguyen vs. Eriquezzo

Huy Nguyen raised to 50,000 from under the gun and received on call in the form of Ryan Eriquezzo in the small blind. Both players proceeded to check the {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop before Eriquezzo led out for 84,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Nguyen thought for the briefest of moments before raising to 200,000, prompting Eriquezzo to snap-fold.

On the second hand back from break, Sam Stein moved all in for 195,000 total and was called by Nikolas Stone in the small blind.

Showdown
Stone: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Stein: {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Stein was behind, but he was drawing to live cards. Unfortunately for him, the board would run out an uneventful {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Stone scored his second elimination of the day.
