The Defending Champs Takes on "Hollywood" Dave

Level 2 : 50/75, 0 ante

We caught up with the defending champ, Herbert Tapscott, just in time to see him limp from early position. "Hollywood" Dave Stann did the same from the hijack, the cutoff called and both blinds came along for the ride. Five players saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and three checks put action on Stann, who bet 75.

The small blind called, as did Tapscott, and three players saw the turn, which came down the {6-Diamonds}. Tapscott checked, Stann bet and both his opponents called.

The {7-Diamonds} river saw Tapscott check for a third time and Stann bet yet again. After the small blind folded, Tapscott made the call.

Stann: {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Tapscott: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Stan rivered a straight for the high, and Tapscott tabled the nut low. Chop it up. Despite splitting that pot, both Stann and Tapscott are down from the starting stack of 4,500.
