Moneymaker Wins on the Turn

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught up with Chris Moneymaker in a heads-up hand with an opponent. Moneymaker, who was just recently moved into the Brasilia room, opened the betting preflop to 225 from middle position. His opponent in late position called.

The flop came {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and both players checked. The turn came {a-Clubs} and Moneymaker let out a bet of 350. His opponent folded, building up Moneymaker's stack to around 9,500.

'The Master' Folds to Live Another Day

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

With {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs} | {8-Diamonds} on board, the big blind had checked to Men 'The Master' Nguyen who was seated under-the-gun plus one. He made it 1,500 with just 950 behind in an already sizable pot. The big blind double checked how much Nguyen was playing behind, and then announced all in. Nguyen thought about it for awhile, but eventually folded showing the {K-Diamonds}. The big blind showed the {K-Hearts} and started stacking his new chips.

Some of these players were already seated, some of them just bought in. One in the latter category was Taylor Paur who we saw registering and picking up his 3,000 chips not long a go. He just busted in the $3,000 Mix Max where Jason Koon beat him in the heads up stage of the tournament. Koon is through to round two where he'll battle Mike Watson. Taylor Paur, who already won a $1,000 event and thus a bracelet this year, will give it a go in Brasilia with 20 big blinds.
