Doubles Everywhere
Shortly after the redraw for the final three tables, we witnessed a whole flurry of double ups. It started when Xuan Liu raised to 5,000 from under the gun and Siriwan Sukmekerd made the call from the big blind. The flop came and Sukmekerd led out for 12,000. Liu then pushed all in, covering Sukmekerd by plenty, and was called. Liu showed and was behind the of Sukmekerd. The turn was the and the river of further solidified Sukmekerd's hand with two pairs. She secured a big double up.
The next double came when Haixia Zhang got it all in preflop with Mikiyo Aoki. Aoki had raised to 5,000 and Zhang pushed all in. Aoki quickly called and had the better hand with to her opponent's . The flop fell heavily in Zhang's favour, however. With on the board, Zhang had flopped a straight. The turn and river of and changed nothing, and Zhang doubled through Aoki.
Shortly after, action was at the turn with the board reading . Shana Davis pushed all in and Charlet Molique made the call. Davis was holding , but Molique had flopped two pairs with . Davis had the flush draw, but she couldn't find a heart on the river of and doubled up Molique.
Then Davis got it all in with Gwendoline Laurent-Daw preflop. Davis had and Laurent-Daw had the better hand with . The jacks held through the board of and Davis doubled up another player.
