Hellmuth Doubles Through Guan

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth raised to 3,000 from middle position and Ricky Guan reraised to 7,500. It folded back to Hellmuth who went deep into the tank and after more than a minute he moved all in for 11,900. Guan quickly called turning over {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and Hellmuth showed {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The dealer spread the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop and Guan picked up a flush draw as well as counterfeit outs to go along with his over cards. The turn {4-Spades} was no help to Guan and Hellmuth was just one river card away from the double-up. The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Hellmuth faded the river to survive.
