Dirksen Doubles Through Zhukov

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

Adam Coats raised on the button and Kyle Miaso called in the big blind to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Miaso check-called a bet and did so again on both the {4-Spades} turn and the {7-Clubs} river. Coats showed {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a full house and Miaso asked "do you have a low?" before the cards had just been turned over. "Ace-queen," Coats joked, and Miaso tabled his {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for an ace-six low.

Two hands later, Viacheslav Zhukov raised first to act and Dustin Dirksen called in the big blind with 40,000 behind, then moved all in after the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop. Zhukov called to create the first all-in showdown of the day.

Dustin Dirksen: {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Viacheslav Zhukov: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}

Dirksen grabbed his belongings, but could sit down again after the blank {10-Spades} turn and {K-Spades} river runout.

Action folded around to the blinds and Adam Coats raised from the small. Paul Volpe called from the big and the two players saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Coats bet and Volpe called.

The turn brought the {K-Spades} and both players checked.

The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and Coats bet. Volpe raised, Coats folded, and Volpe took the pot.

When Day 4 of Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship begins at 2:00 p.m. local time, the last 6 remaining players out of the 169-entry field will resume battle at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, each in hot pursuit of the $417,921 first prize and WSOP gold. Leading the way is three-time bracelet winner Eli Elezra, who began Day 3 as the chip leader bagged 2,700,000 chips at the conclusion of play.

Although Elezra has a substantial lead — the next largest stack belongs to Adam Coats with 1,820,000 — he's facing some unsurprisingly tough competition. Two-time bracelet winners Paul Volpe (1,600,000) and Viacheslav Zhukov (970,000) are still in the hunt, and they're joined by accomplished players Kyle Miaso (1,275,000) and an extremely short-stacked Dustin Dirksen (140,000). Here's a look at the seating chart:
