Team Smith Spike an Ace to Survive

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jerod Smith was all in for 745,000 from the button and saw raiser Barak Wisbrod of Team Geiger call from the cutoff.

Team Smith: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Team Geiger: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Board: {3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Team Geiger held the preflop advantage, but it disappeared on the flop after the ace of diamonds appeared. Team Smith held as the board completed and secured an unlikely double to survive.

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
James George
James George

John Hinds raised to 50,000 and saw a player from Team Jung call from the cutoff before James George defended his big blind.

The flop fell {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and Hinds continued for 80,000, which both his opponents called.

The turn fell the {8-Diamonds} and the player from Team Jung bet 212,000 after the action folded to him, which signaled an all in from George. Hinds got out the way and the Team Jung player called.

George flipped over {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top pair, but he was drawing head against {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a set.

The insignificant river fell, and Team George departed in 18th place for $5,906.

Team Leng Eliminated in 21st Place ($4,805)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

Ryan Leng raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Barak Wisbrod of Team Geiger three-bet to 160,000. Action folded all the way back to Leng who four-bet to 675,000. Geiger responded with a five-bet shove and Leng snap-called with them holding very similar stacks.

Leng jumped up from his chair and flipped over his cards while the rail and the other players in the tournament swamped the table to see what was happening in this monster set-up.

Team Leng: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Team Geiger: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} with the king in the window and Leng grabbed his hair in disbelief.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} which didn't change the situation.

Only another ace could save Leng but the river completed the board with the {q-Hearts}. Wisbrod's stack was being counted out and determined to be 2,323,000. Leng's stack was worth 2,260,000 and that how two big stacks became one huge one.

Team Trofimov Wins One

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Dragos Trofimov raised to 50,000 from the button and Shaotong Chang called in the big blind.

They both checked through the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop to the {k-Spades} on the turn. Chang check-called the 75,000 bet of Trofimov.

The river completed the board with the {j-Diamonds} and both players checked again. Chang tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} but those couldn't beat the {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} of Tromfimov who had rivered a higher pair.
