Shaun Deeb Bags the Day 2 Chip Lead in the $1,111 Little One for One Drop
A wild Day 2 is complete in Event #75: $1,111 Little One for One Drop. By the end of late registration, a total of 6,246 entries made it in to the field, and the money bubble burst on the seventh level of the day, with 937 players getting paid.
All of those players guaranteed themselves at least a min cash of $1,500, and by the end of the night the field narrowed down to 412 players. Those survivors will come back Wednesday for the Day 3 restart, which commences at 1 p.m.
Four-time bracelet winner and 2018 WSOP Player of the Year Shaun Deeb ended the night as the Day 2 end-of-day chip leader, bagging 2,892,000. Theres still a lot of poker left to be played over the next two days in this event, but Deeb is in good position to make a deep run if his fortunes continue the way they have over the first two days.
Some of the other big stacks to bag at the end of the night Matt Souza (2,366,000), Jeremy Dresch (2,340,000), Naor Slobodskoy (2,109,000), Jaime Lewin (1,980,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Benjamin Moon (1,970,000).
Players finishing in the money, but not making it through to Day 3 included Joe Serock, Vanessa Kade, Nick Binger, Erick Lindgren, David ODB Baker, Aaron Massey, Andy Bloch, Maria Konnikova and Howard Mash.
Phil Hellmuth was one of the notables to not make it through, registering at the latest possible moment and having a short-lived run through the Little One for One Drop. Others finishing short of the money included Jared Jaffee, Matt Berkey, Will Kasouff, Ryan Feldman, and a pair of WSOP champions in Jamie Gold and Greg Raymer.
The remaining 412 players come back Wednesday to play a full day, with 10 one-hour levels on the schedule. The tournament is planned to play through to a winner on Thursday, with the champion taking home the WSOP bracelet and the $690,686 first prize. Play will resume with Level 21, and the blinds at 8000/16000 with an 8,000 ante.
