Conrad "iamnotblack" Simpson Looking for More Omaha Success

Conrad "iamnotblack" Simpson

Last December, Conrad "iamnotblack" Simpson topped a field of 96 runners to win the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah’s Las Vegas Event #13: $400 Mixed PLO/NLH 8-Handed for a career-high $8,978 and his first gold ring.

It was a breakout win for the grinder, who the day before watched his friend and roommate, Corey Paggeot, win a ring of his own.

"I love PLO. I play hold'em for the most part, but I like PLO. It's fun." said Simpson, who does video work for Matt Berkey’s Solve for Why.

In July, Simpson has been busy grinding online. He even sent us this photo of him playing from a hot tub earlier in the series.

Thus far, he's amassed four cashes in this series:

Ausmus Left With Dust

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

Jeremy "ChipChecka" Ausmus raised to 600 from middle position and "OrangeHippo" three-bet to 900 from the cutoff.

Action folded to "Luckyleo1980" who called from the big blind, as did Ausmus bringing the three players to the {2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop.

"Luckyleo1980" checked to Ausmus who fired out 300 and "OrangeHippo" raised to 600 which was called by both opponent's.

The {q-Spades} turn was checked by all three players to the {10-Diamonds} river where action was checked to "OrangeHippo" who fired out 600 and Ausmus called after "Luckyleo1980" folded.

Ausmus rolled over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a pair of kings but it was no good as "OrangeHippo" rolled over {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}to win the hand with the nut flush.

Wallace Sets Up Gruneberg

Level 4 : 125/250, 0 ante
Event 22 Champion Chris Wallace
Event 22 Champion Chris Wallace

"AtlasRise" limped in from the cutoff and Zachary "MagicConch" Gruneberg raised to 500 from the small blind.

Action was on Chris "6EQUJ5" Wallace who three-bet to 750 from the big blind and only Gruneberg called to see a {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop.

Gruneberg check-called Wallace's 250 continuation and did the same for 500 on the {3-Diamonds} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river.

Gruneberg rolled over {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} for two-pair but it was no good as Wallace held {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to win the pot with a set of aces.
