First Two Pots to Botteon

Level 40 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Brunno Botteon
Brunno Botteon

In the very first hand of the heads-up duel, Damian Salas limped in and Brunno Botteon made it 1,750,000 to go. Salas gave it some consideration and made the call to see a flop of {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Botteon continued for 1,225,000 and that shut down the resistance of Salas.

Botteon then raised to 1,100,000 on the button and Salas called. The {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop was checked by Salas and Botteon continued for 1,000,000, which Salas called. The {5-Hearts} fell on the turn and Salas checked once more. Botteon fired a second barrel for 3,000,000 and that earned the second pot in as many hands in heads-up.

The Heads-Up Commences

Level 40 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

After the usual heads-up pictures have been taken care of, the action has recommenced. On each hand, the player in the big blind has 1 million chips up invested thanks to the big blind ante format and it may be a very quick or a very fierce duel with a pay jump of more than half a million US Dollars.

Manuel Ruivo Eliminated in 3rd Place ($728,177)

Level 40 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Manuel Ruivo
Manuel Ruivo

Manuel Ruivo limp-jammed out of the small blind to boost his stack as Brunno Botteon forfeited his raise to 1.25 million out of the big blind.

In the very next hand, it was Damian Salas that limped in and Ruivo raised to 1.5 million in the big blind. Salas filled up and they headed to the {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Salas opted to check and Ruivo bet 750,000 with a stack of around 6 million at his disposal. The check-raise to 5 million by Salas followed.

"Five million? That's almost my all-in ..." Ruivo gasped and then announced his all-in, which Salas snap-called.

Manuel Ruivo: {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Damian Salas: {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The {8-Spades} turn gave Salas an open-ended straight draw on top and Ruivo calmly added "could be worse." It indeed came worse as the {5-Clubs} river improved Salas to a flush and sent Ruivo to the rail in 3rd place for $728,177.

Botteon Beats Salas in Showdown

Level 40 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

A limped battle of the blinds between the two biggest stacks was checked down on the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop and {7-Clubs} turn. Brunno Botteon then bet the {a-Spades} river for 700,000 and Damian Salas eventually called.

Botteon rolled over the {j-Clubs}{9-Spades} and that won the pot, as Salas mucked.
