Piccioli Sends Depaulo to the Rail Short of the Money

Ryan Depaulo
Ryan Depaulo

Blinds 8,000/16,000/2,000

Bryan "Pellepelle" Piccioli raised to 32,000 from early position and Ryan "Joeyisamush" Depaulo, who last year captured a WSOP Online bracelet, three-bet jammed for 207,514 two spots over. Action folded back to Piccioli and called.

Bryan "Pellepelle" Piccioli: {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Ryan "Joeyisamush" Depaulo: {j-Spades}{a-Spades}

Depaulo had the inferior kicker and that's what made the difference after the board ran out {q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. With that, Depaulo busted not far from the money.

Hellmuth Eliminated by Pantelic

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Blinds 5,000/10,000/1,250

Action quickly folded around to Phil "Lumestackin" Hellmuth who raised all in for 132,000 from the cutoff and Marko "skyflyhigh23" Pantelic called on the button.

Phil "Lumestackin" Hellmuth: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Marko "skyflyhigh23" Pantelic: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Hellmuth was ahead until a jack appeared in the window on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop but Hellmuth did picked-up a broadway draw.

The turn wasn't bad for Hellmuth either as the {5-Diamonds} gave him more outs with a diamond flush draw but the {9-Spades} river was a brick and ended his tournament.

Alabama's All-Time Earnings Leader Shannon Shorr Looking For Some Diaper Money

Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

One of the most consistent crushers of the last fifteen years has been Shannon "Aulophobia" Shorr, who tops the Alabama all-time earnings list on Hendon Mob, with nearly $8.6 million in recording earnings. Shorr, who recently announced that he and his wife Joy are expecting their first child, is in action today and will be looking for more success on the virtual felt after some early success on the live felt this year.

Shorr, who had six cashes in last year's WSOP.com Online Bracelet series, but has yet to win a WSOP Gold Bracelet, found his first victory of the year in Event #28: $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack, and for besting a 287-entrant field, Shorr added a healthy $296,535 to his bankroll. Shorr has also found a quartet of cashes in PokerGO branded events, including a fourth-place performance at the $10,000 NLH High Roller at The Venetian, good for $77,000.

With another full summer of bracelet events on the docket, will this be the year that Shorr breaks through for a WSOP Gold Bracelet to add another accolade to an already illustrious career? We'll be watching his status all summer long as "Aulophobia" shoots for the stars.

Funaro's Day is Done

Frank Funaro
Frank Funaro

Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000

Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro moved all in for 15,569 from the button and Douglas "OpenOpen" May called from the small blind. "Billson" came along from the big and there was side action headed to the {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. May bet 12,888, "Billson" folded, and the hands were turned up.

Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro: {j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Douglas "OpenOpen" May: {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

May was ahead with a pair of sixes and Funaro was looking to get lucky. That didn't happen though as the {2-Spades} bricked the turn followed by the {6-Diamonds} on the river.
