Smith Doubles Immediately After Losing a Pot

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Josh Smith played a couple big pots in a row, first losing when he called 30,000 preflop against the cutoff. The flop came {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Smith check-raised to 75,000. The cutoff player three-bet jammed for 189,000 forcing Smith to fold.

The very next hand the hijack player who was the same opponent from the previous hand raised to 35,000 and Smith jammed his entire stack of 134,000 on the button. The action folded back around to the hijack to instantly called.

Josh Smith: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Hijack: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Smith was a big underdog for his tournament life, and the flop of {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} was no help. The {4-Spades} fell on the turn giving Smith a flush draw and a straight draw and the {3-Spades} on the river completed Smith's flush to scoop the pot and double up.
