Event #58: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold��em Day 1 Begins at 10:00 a.m.
Welcome to Day 1 of Event #58: $1000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold��em of the 2021 World Series of Poker inside the beautiful Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a four-day event with a minimum age of 60 years old to enter.
Day 1 of this event starts at 10:00 a.m local time. All players who enter will receive a starting stack of 20,000 tournament chips. Players will play ten levels today with each level lasting 60 minutes. The blinds will start at 100-100 with a 100 big blind ante. There will be a 20-minute break every two levels with a 75-minute break after Level 8. Each player is allowed a single re-entry with late registration ending before Level 9 starts at approximately 8:15 p.m. local time.
Michael Blake is the reigning champion. He defeated a field of 2,650 super seniors in 2019 to take home the WSOP gold bracelet and a top prize of $359,863 making it his best career cash. In 2018 Blake finished this event in 109th place for $2,209 and in 2017 he finished in 168th for $1,723. The 2009 WSOPE main event champion Barry Shulman finished in second place for $222,295 and Cary Marshall finished in third for $162,536.
Some other notables who played this event in 2019 are the late Mike Sexton, Hall of Famer's Barry Greenstein, TJ Cloutier, and two-time bracelet winner Dan Harrington.
