Modacure Hits Trips on Turn, Triples Up

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Following two early position limps, the cutoff bet 1,800. The button called and Antonio Modacure moved all-in for his final 7,900 chips. Both limpers folded but the cutoff and button called.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and the cutoff bet 7,000. The button folded and the players flipped the cards on their backs.

Antonio Modacure: {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Cutoff: {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Modacure spiked the {3-Diamonds} to improve to trips on the turn and the {k-Hearts} gave him the full pot and the triple up.

WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada, sitting to the direct right of Modacure, is up to 44,000 chips.

Ball Looks to Keep Things Rolling in 2022

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Scott Ball
Scott Ball

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Ball is in the house. Not only did Ball take home two gold bracelets last year in the Little One for One Drop and the No-Limit Hold'em $5,000 6-max, but he also won the WSOP’s new No-Limits VELO Leaderboard Championship for best no-limit hold'em player of the year.

Ball picked up an early pot when he and an opponent both put in 3,300 preflop to see the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} spread. Ball bet 4,000 and that was enough to take down the pot.

Pope Earns Full Double-Up After Cracking Aces

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

The cutoff min-raised to 800 and Phillip Pope called from the big blind.

The flop came {7-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Spades}. Pope checked and the cutoff bet 1,600. Pope took the opportunity to raise to 4,400 and his opponent called.

With the {4-Clubs} on the turn, Pope led out for 9,000 and the cutoff went all-in. Pope snap-called and showed {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for two pair, which was significantly ahead of the cutoff's {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The river was a safe {5-Diamonds} and Pope earned the full double-up, nearly stacking his opponent in the process.

Moon Reads Through the Table Talk

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Benjamin Moon
Benjamin Moon

An early position player limped in, Ben Moon called from the small blind and the big checked his option.

Moon checked on the flop {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts} and the big blind bet 500. The early position limper called, and Moon raised it up to 2,500. Both players called.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Moon continued for 6,000. Both players called again the {5-Hearts} hit the river.

Both Moon and the big blind checked, and the early position player moved all-in for 8,000.

"So you both were on spade draws," said the all-in player.

Moon made the call and revealed his {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} pair of kings, which was enough to eliminate his opponent who actually held the missed spade draw himself with {8-Spades}{9-Spades}.
