Gupta's River Bet Takes it Down

Level 4 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Anthony Serino opened to 1,200 from the button. Mike Lichtie, in the small blind, called before Ash Gupta raised to 1,800 in the big blind. Serino reraised to 2,400, earning a call from Lichtie, before Gupta put in the 4-bet to 3,000. Serino and Lichtie both called.

The flop came {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Gupta fired a small bet. Serino made the call, remarking "I'm in there like swimwear," as he did so. Lichtie got out of the way, giving heads-up action to the turn.

On the {10-Clubs} turn, Gupta put in a big bet and got a call. On the {j-Spades} river, Gupta fired again, and Serino begrudgingly made the laydown, lamenting to the dealer "Why did it have to be this specific card?" before scooping the pot, Gupta showed Serino {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}, giving him a straight.
