Ladies Event Day 2 Awaits With Many Notables Still in the Field
The remaining 274 players in Event #61: Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship will be back at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas at 12 p.m. to play ten and a half more levels before bagging for the night.
Sharma Gargee is the biggest stack to start the day with 419,000 chips and hopes to make her first deep run in the Ladies Event. Rounding out the tops stacks are Cherish Andrews (364,000), who final tabled the event last year, Wendy Beckers (285,000), Melanie Pittard (262,000) and Charlotte Van Brabander (228,000).
A total of 1,074 entered this always popular event, generating a prize pool of $955,660. The 162 players surviving the bubble today will be guaranteed $1,600 while the new champion will collect $166,975 along with a WSOP gold bracelet.
The defending champion Lara Eisenberg will also be back on the battlefield today and will have to fight for her title as she bagged a small stack of 52,000. Two other WSOP champions are also still in the hunt of a second bracelets with Leo Margets (66,500) and Katie Kopp (42,500).
Some notables still in the hunt include Anna Antimony (155,000), five-time WSOP ring winner Loni Hui (90,500), Tiffany Michelle (85,000), chess pro player Qiyu "Nemo" Zhou (80,500), Natalie Hof (72,000), Marle Spragg (41,500) and Stephanie Dao (55,500).
Cards will be back in the air today at noon PT on level 11 with blinds 1,000/ 2,000 for a 2,000 ante. There will be 15-minute breaks every two hours of play and a 60-minute dinner break after level 16, around 6:30 p.m.
