Record-Breaking Field Packs Paris Ballroom for Event #7: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better
Record-breaking.
That has been the tone so far of the 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas and Event #7: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better did not disappoint. The field of 1,067 surpassed the previous record of 1,036 from 2014.
By the end of Day 1 of the three-day event, only 413 participants found a bag to continue their journey onto Day 2.
A record-breaking field also meant a record-breaking prize pool, generating $1,451,154 overall. Of those returning, just 164 players will make the money. As always, each player will be eyeing up the $252,718 first-place prize.
Just a few of the notable names to advance to Day 2 with big stacks were Yehuda Buchalter (261,500), Carol Fuchs (166,500), Phil Hellmuth (100,500), and Shaun Deeb (73,000). Benny Glaser also barely escaped elimination but managed to climb his way up amongst the chip leaders to bag a stack of 158,000.
Glaser eliminated Ali Imsirovic on his way back to the upper regions of the chip counts. Glaser had the nut-high in a three-way pot with Imsirovic at risk. The board ran out without a low and Imsirovic was sent packing while Glaser was climbing the ranks.
