Nguyen Sends Minghini Under a Million

Level 29

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Mark Erickson raised in early position and was called by Jarod Minghini in the small blind and Men Nguyen in the big blind.

On the {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, Minghini checked, Nguyen bet, Erickson folded, and Minghini called/

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and after Minghini again checked, Nguyen checked behind.

Minghini then checked the {j-Clubs} river, and Nguyen bet. After some brief deliberation, Minghini called to see the seven-time bracelet winner show {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a rivered king-high flush to boost his stack back toward the three million chip mark, while Minghini fell below a million.

Minghini Stung On The River

Level 29

Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Jarod Minghini bet from under the gun and was called by Mark Erickson in the cutoff and Scott Abrams in the big blind.

The flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} allowed Minghini to bet and was met with a raise from Erickson. Abrams folded and Minghini made the call.

The {8-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and Erickson made the bet and Minghini called.

The {10-Diamonds} completed the board and Erickson bet and Minghini made the call and couldn't believe that Erickson tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a boat of eights full of tens.

Minghini was set to get the chop as he revealed {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-}{2-Hearts} for eights full of twos which Erickson also gained at the turn. Minghini also missed out on the nut low draw to rub salt into the wounds.

Tablemate Barny Boatman commiserated with Minghini indicating he was incredibly unlucky.

Shawn Carter Eliminated in 8th Place

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

From his short stack, Shawn Carter raised pot for 140,000 from the hijack. Peter Neff then re-potted it from the big blind to put Carter in for 355,000 total. Carter called to put himself at risk.

Shawn Carter: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Peter Neff: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts}, giving both players trip aces, but Neff's jack kicker played for high, and his eight-deuce also pipped Carter's eight-three for low, bringing the field to its official final table of seven.

Abrams Takes Massive Low Pot And Takes A Third From High

Level 29

Big O

Mark Erickson bet 80,000 from under the gun. Shawn Carter bet the pot for 300,000 in the hijack and Scott Abrams in the cutoff made the call, as did Erickson.

Carter moved all in on the flop of {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for 550,000. Abrams bet the pot, as did Erickson, and all of the chips went in the middle with Abrams also at risk for 2,700,000

Shawn Carter: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Scott Abrams: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Mark Erickson: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Erickson flopped the nut straight and had the nut flush draw. Abrams had the nut low. Carter's only hope to win the pot was the backdoor spade flush draw.

The {j-Clubs} changed nothing on the turn but the {7-Clubs} on the river gave everyone involved a seven-high straight giving all three players a third of the high pot and Abrams scooped the low pot with his ace-deuce to take the lead.

Big Stacks Battle in Early Hand at Bally's

Level 29

Big O

Men Nguyen raised under the gun to 100,000 and was met with a three-bet to 360,000 from Barny Boatman on the button.

Nguyen called to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, then led for 820,000 into Boatman.

The Brit opted to fold and avoid a massive pot, just sending his 360,000 to his fellow bracelet winner.

Adam Friedman Eliminated in 9th Place ($16,740)

Level 28
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Big O

Chip Leader Mark Erickson raised to 90,000 in the cutoff and was met with a pot-sized bet from Adam Friedman on the short stack.

Friedman was left with 25,000 after Erickson just called and on the {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, the rest of it went into the middle to put the five-time bracelet winner at risk.

Adam Friedman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Mark Erickson: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Erickson's queen had out-flopped Friedman and a second {q-Spades} on the turn sunk Friedman further with only his flush draw or a jack for a straight to save him.

The river {2-Spades} was neither of those and a frustrating and disappointing day for Friedman unfortunately came to an end shy of the unofficial final table.

William Slaght Eliminated in 10th Place ($12,871)

Level 28
William Slaght
William Slaght

There was 195,000 in the middle on a board of {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} when William Slaght bet the pot from the small blind. Scott Abrams in the big blind also bet the pot. Slaght called for 415,000 which put all of their chips in the middle.

William Slaght: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Scott Abrams: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Abrams paired with every card on the board while Slaght had the nut low draw and but flush draw. Slaght missed everything on the {j-Hearts} river and Abrams aces and tens were good enough to take the entire pot and send Slaght to the pay cage.
