Anderson on Verge of Victory; Abrams Hanging On

Level 34

Big O

While Scott Abrams has improved on his third-place finish from last year, his quest to win the tournament is in dire straits.

After he called a pot-sized preflop raise to 360,000 from Bradley Anderson, the duo saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Abrams then bet the pot (860,000) and was called by Anderson.

On the turn {6-Spades}, both players checked, but after Abrams checked the {9-Diamonds} river, Anderson bet the pot, which was more than Abrams' remaining 1,150,000 chips.

Abrams gave his decision plenty of thought, focusing intently, with the excitement of the WSOP Main Event bubble about to burst around him, then chose to fold and preserve his remaining chips.

"It's going to make the comeback that much more epic," said Abrams as he prepared for the next hand.
