Cruz Chips Up

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was told after the fact.

Tom Markov opened from under the gun to 2,000 and was called by Steve Girouard in middle position and Nick Cruz in the small blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and action checked to Markov who moved all in for 2,200. Both players called.

The {7-Spades} was the turn and action went check-check.

The river was the {q-Spades} and Cruz bet 13,300 for a pot-sized bet. Girouard went into the tank before folding the king-high flush {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{x-}{x-}.

Cruz would only take down the side pot as he showed {a-}{j-}{x-}{x-} for the straight but it couldn't beat Markov who showed {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{x-}{x-} for the nut flush.

No-Limit Hold'em

Girouard open to 1,600 from middle position and Cruz three-bet to 2,600. Girouard called.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Girouard check-called Cruz's 3,000 bet.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and again Girouard called the bet of 4,500 from Cruz.

The {q-Clubs} was the river and Cruz fired 7,000 when checked to. Girouard called. He saw the bad news as Cruz revealed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for the ace-high flush. Girouard mucked.

Shortly after Markov and Girouard were sent to the rails.
