Conniff Gets the Better of Diaz

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

David Diaz opened to 1,800,000 from under the gun and was called by Asher Conniff in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and Conniff check-called a bet of 800,000 from Diaz.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and Conniff checked again. Diaz sized up a bet of 3,200,000 this time and Conniff deliberated for nearly a minute before letting his hand go.

On the next hand, Conniff limped in from the small blind and Diaz bumped it up to 1,600,000 from the big blind. Conniff quickly called the min-raise and the flop of {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} hit the felt.

Both players checked and the {9-Hearts} landed on the turn. Conniff led out with a bet of 1,800,000 this time and Diaz stuck around for the {8-Diamonds} on the river. Conniff came out firing with another bet of 4,700,000 and Diaz was forced to lay his hand down.
