This years version of the event drew event more entries than last year, only building on the success of the WSOP this summer. The $1,343,680 prize pool paid 54 players based on 340 entrants (including a whopping 102 re-entries). Players like recent bracelet winner Patrick "BarnyBoatman" Leonard, David "vincevegas" Baker, Upeshka "gomezhamburg" De Silva and Christopher "WATnlos" Frank all jumped in the action throughout registration, but came up short before the money.
The bubble boy was Scott Thatspraxis Seiver, who busted in a three-way all-in that send him to the rail before the money along with Brett RaptopStyle Apter.
Many big names did make the money, however. A few notables that were successful in getting a return on their investment include: Mike YagamiLight Watson (44th), Daniel DNegs Negreanu (34th) and Jeremy ChipChecka Ausmus (25th).
The unfortunate bubble boy was none other than Ethan Rampunts Yau, a Youtube poker vlogger known as ''Rampage Poker''. Yau had a rough last few levels, going from top of the table with 16 players left to out in ninth.
Adam PHsGoldShoes Hendrix (8th) and Corey Corgasm'' Paggeot (7th) managed to bust on the same hand after being short stacked and both getting it in against Brian JackBogle Altman. Altman held with tens versus king-ten and a pair of nines to take play six-handed.
Altman then ran into the aces all-in preflop against Calvin "projector52" Anderson to finish in sixth for $47,835, just after busting those two players.
John "Macallan25" Riordan was next to fall, after a lengthy five-handed battle. The short-stacked Riordan ran into Anderson's kings and it was good game sir, as he didn't improve.
In fourth place came Alex "Im_doo" Greenblatt, swiftly followed by Gabriel "black_mamba" Nastasa. Both falling to the eventual champion. They took home $97,820 and $137,055 respectively.
Just before the two busts outs detailed above, Perouse enjoyed a huge double up against Anderson that set him up to win. They went into heads-up with a huge chip disparity, Perouse's 10,200,000 against Andersons 1,200,000
Heads-up play took just a couple of hands after the short stack Anderson got it in against Perouse with one over to Perouse's pocket eights. He couldn't find a way to win and was sent to the rail in second place. A great showing from the crusher, Anderson, who nearly got himself another bracelet to add to his collection.
