Paul Volpe Eliminated in 11th Place ($25,822)
No-Limit Hold'em
Much to the surprise of everyone else at the table, Chad Eveslage selected No-Limit Hold'em instead of his usual Badeucey and then raised from under the gun. Paul Volpe called out of the big blind. On a flop of 10?9?3?, both invested 55,000 and that led to the 6? turn on which Volpe checked.
Eveslage bet 160,000 and Volpe called after short consideration, then checked the 5? on the river. With the superior stack, Eveslage pushed all-in and Volpe called within fewer than five seconds.
Eveslage tabled the 3?3? for a set and Volpe mucked the A?A? to bow out in 11th place.
"For the first time in his life, he calls NLHE and hits a set in the first hand ..." Marco Johnson stated in table chat. Mike Gorodinsky chimed in "that's really scary, man ... really scary".
