James Obst Eliminated in 5th Place ($63,737)

Level 33 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

James Obst

James Obst raised and Qinghai Pan called on the button before Jim Collopy three-bet in the small blind. Both opponents called to the K?4?2? flop.

Collopy led out with a bet, Obst raised, Pan called, and Collopy reraised. Obst called all in and Pan also called.

The turn came the 5? and Collopy bet into the side pot. Pan took his time before calling as the 9? fell on the river, where Pan called another bet.

"Nut, nut," Collopy said, turning over A?3?6?K? for the straight and the low. Obst had 5?6?Q?9? and shook the hands of his former tablemates on his way to the exit.

"I've been playing with him for 17 years," Collopy said after Obst left the table.
