Ka Kwan Lau Eliminated in 11th Place ($75,352)

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ka Kwan Lau
Ka Kwan Lau

Ka Kwan Lau opened the action with a raise to 250,000 and he was called by Stanislav Halatenko in the small blind, Oswin Ziegelbecker also came along from the big blind as well. The Q?J?3? flop was checked to Lau who made it 625,000 to go.

Halatenko waved with his hand to see the remaining stack of Lau before he called and Ziegelbecker got out of the way.

The 8? fell on the turn and Halatenko bet the pot.

"It is 2.1 million, right?" Lau inquired and counted his stack behind which was fewer than the pot. After a few seconds of consideration, Lau called and the cards were on their backs.

Ka Kwan Lau: Q?Q?J?4?
Stanislav Halatenko: A?10?9?8?

Lau needed the board to pair with his top set but the 9? river was a blank, sending the pot to Halatenko with his queen-high straight.

Morris on the Rise Again

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ap Garza clashed with Arthur Morris in a medium-sized pot when he invested 600,000 on the K?Q?4?2? turn via check-call. The J? on the river was checked and Morris announced kings up, then tabled the K?5?3?2? for kings and deuces with a missed straight and flush draw.

That was good enough to win the pot.

Stanislav Halatenko then raised to 250,000 and Dimitar Danchev defended the big blind. The A?Q?8? flop was checked by Danchev and Halatenko barely had the chips in for a continuation bet when Danchev already folded.
