Day 2 of the $1,000 Mini Main Event is Coming to the Business End

The tension is mounting at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, not only is it Day 1a of the World Series of Poker Main Event, it��s baby brother Event #74: $1,000 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold��em will be entering Day 2.

From the 5,257 entries on Day 1, only 426 will come back on Day 2 to compete for the illustrious WSOP Gold Bracelet and the top prize of $549,555 out of the total prize pool of $4,678,730.

Avneesh Munjal from India will start Day 2 as the chip leader with 3,250,000 closely followed by the Israeli pair Liran Betito (2,785,000) and Timur Margolin (2,735,000). Other notables vying for the top prize are Stephen Song with 585,000, JJ Liu with 295,000, and David Levi with 1,245,000.

All remaining players are in the money and guaranteed at least $2,186. It's a long way from there to the top prize, so the fight on the felt will be fast and furious, and for some, fruitful.

Day 2 will get underway at 10 a.m. local time in the Black section of the Paris Champagne Ballroom and play will start at Level 23 where the blinds are 20,000/40,000 with a big blind ante of 40,000.

The levels will increase every 30 minutes and there will be a 15-minute break after every fourth level, with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 34.
