"What a Joke"

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jason Liu
Jason Liu

Richard Ryder raised 80,000 in the cutoff and Harsheel Kothari called in the small blind before Jason Liu three-bet 240,000 from the big blind. Ryder called, and Kothari made the fold.

The flop of 10?8?4? received checks from both players and the 2? hit the turn.

Liu led out for 310,000 and Ryder made the call.

When the A? landed on the river, Liu took a moment before cutting out a bet of 600,000. Ryder instantly announced a call while tabling 10?10? for a set of tens on the flop. Liu rolled over his A?A?, rivering the highest set and Ryder exploded out of his chair and walked about 10 feet away. A tablemate peeled the 600,000 off his stack for the dealer to reach and sent it to Liu.

After a few seconds, Ryder came back and said, "What a joke. What an absolute joke."

Nikita Luther
Nikita Luther

John Racener opened in early position and the button called before Nikita Luther also called in the big blind.

The flop of 10?K?Q? checked through and Luther checked again on the 2? turn. Racener bet 140,000 and the button folded before Luther check-raised to 420,000. Racener sat still with a cap covering his eyes and called.

The Q? river completed the board and Luther took about a minute before betting a hefty 1,250,000. Racener took about the same time to fold.

Laborda Flops Big to Triple Up

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Hilton Laborda
Hilton Laborda

Picking up the action live on the flop on the side feature table, Hilton Laborda on the button was involved in a hand with James Jeffrey in late position as well as Gar Cheung in the big blind. With the board reading 2?3?2? Jeffrey had both of his opponents all in and at risk.

Gar Cheung: K?10?
Hilton Laborda: A?2?
James Jeffrey: K?K?

Laborda had flopped trips to put himself in good position to get a triple up. The 3? turn immediately ended Cheung's hopes of outright victory by removing his flush outs while Jeffrey was left needing to hit the case king to scoop the pot. The A? river kept Laborda best to send Cheung out of the tournament while putting a significant dent in Jeffrey's stack.

After some thinking time, Systla threw in the call. Obregon showed Q?9? for top pair and Systla mucked his cards as he could not beat that.

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Nikita Luther
Nikita Luther

Nikita Luther opened to 80,000 from middle position and Roman Hrabec defended his big blind.

Both players checked the J?Q?K? flop leading to the 3? turn. Hrabec check-called a 110,000 bet from Luther.

Hrabec checked again on the 10? turn and Luther bet 350,000, sending Hrabec deep into the tank.

"I have a very bad hand..." Hrabec commented after a couple minutes of thought. Shortly afterwards he flicked in the call.

Luther tabled J?9? for a rivered flush to win a sizable pot.

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Glenn Fishbein
Glenn Fishbein

One of the biggest pots has just unfolded on the side feature table when Christopher Vitch was eliminated by Glenn Fishbein, who has become the new chip leader as a result.

On a Q?6?2?5? turn, Fishbein's bet was raised to 525,000 by Vitch who then called the shove by Fishbein.

Christopher Vitch: K?Q?
Glenn Fishbein: Q?5?

The 8? river was a blank and the two pair of Fishbein were good enough for the knockout. Vitch was among average heading into the last break but crashed out a few minutes after the action resumed.

Below are some of the most notable hands of level 22. When the action resumes, the blinds will be 20,000-40,000 with a big blind ante of 40,000.

Lee Makes a Great Fold as Rosilio Coolers Alache

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sung Lee
Sung Lee

Nathan Paytas opened to 60,000 from under the gun and Sung Lee three-bet to 185,000 from early position. Oscar Alache put in a four-bet to 315,000 from middle position and Hen Rosilio five-bet all in from the big blind for 940,000, folding out Paytas and Lee. Seemingly knowing what he was up against, Alache sighed and put in the call, putting Rosilio at risk.

Hen Rosilio: A?A?
Oscar Alache: K?K?

Alache failed to find a king on the 2?4?5?5?9? runout and took a major hit to his stack while Rosilio secured a full double up. Shortly after the hand ran out, Lee told the table that she had folded pocket queens.
