The second day of the biggest buy-in event of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) wrapped up tonight with 14 players remaining in the fight for the $5,415,152 and bracelet up top in Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

The money bubble did not burst on Day 2, and with only 12 spots paid, two players who return tomorrow will not be getting even the minimum payday of $506,757.

As expected in an event of this caliber, the remaining field includes some of the most recognizable faces on the high roller circuit including poker's most recognizable face, period, in Phil Ivey. The Poker Hall of Famer is after his second bracelet of the summer and 12th of his lifetime after breaking a decade-long drought with his 11th bracelet win in Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship (6-Handed).

Recent $100,000 High Roller champion Chris Hunichen is also after his second bracelet of the summer, while the runner-up of that event, Jeremy Ausmus, is in contention for a seventh career bracelet.

Leading the way into Day 3 is Adrian Mateos, who won the 2021 offering for $3,265,262, while the remaining field also includes high-stakes crushers Ben Tollerene, Brian Kim, Mikita Badziakouski, Jonathan Jaffe and newer faces on the high roller circuit like Santhosh Suvarna and Taylor von Kriegenbergh.

Negreanu Busts on Day 2

The 44 high rollers who bagged Day 1 were joined on Day 2 by several late additions throughout the first two levels of play, including Ivey and Jared Bleznick.

Rising star Michael "Texas Mike" Moncek was looking for a "summer saver" after notoriously losing $2 million on Hustler Casino Live last month as he entered Day 2 with 1,900,000 million chips.

After busting early in the day and buying back in on a second bullet, the two-time bracelet winner couldn't get anything going and is now looking for a second-place finish in the Millionaire Maker just to get back to even.

Defending champion Chris Brewer was also eliminated early into Day 2, and the same was true for 2022 winner Alex Foxen.

Daniel Negreanu busted after returning on Day 2 and bought in on a second bullet that took him to the final three tables. But everyone's favorite poker vlogger, who made a stellar fold with trip aces against a full house on the feature table, couldn't make it to the money as he jammed with jacks as was called by the suited ace-ten of Seth Gottlieb, who hit a flush to put an end to Negreanu's $250,000 High Roller run.

Other players to fall on Day 2 included Nick Schulman, Isaac Haxton, Stephen Chidwick, Danny Tang, Jans Arends, Nick Petrangelo, Andrew Lichtenberger, Seth Davies, and Espen Jorstad.

Day 3 of the $250,000 Super High Roller will pick up at 12 p.m. local time on June 23, starting on Level 19 with blinds of 150,000/300,000/300,000.

Stay tuned as PokerNews will be back tomorrow for continued coverage of Event #55: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em. Be sure to check out the 2024 WSOP reporting hub in the meantime.
