Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante
Jonathan Tamayo
Jonathan Tamayo

Hand #171: Jonathan Tamayo raised to 10,000,000 on the button and won the pot with A?8?, Griff folded the 5?2?.

Hand #172: Griff opened to 10,000,000 and Tamayo called. The A?K?5? flop was checked by Tamayo and Griff continued for 6,000,000, Tamayo called. A second flush draw came with the 2? turn and Tamayo checked again. Griff made it 35,000,000 to go for nearly the entire pot size and Tamayo called.

On the 8? river, Tamayo checked again and Griff fired a huge third barrel for 75,000,000. That sent Tamayo into agony, but he made the call and was good with the A?6? for top pair as Griff had bluffed with the Q?4? for queen high only.

Hand #173: Tamayo raised the button to 10,000,000 again with 8?7?, Griff folded the 5?2?.

Hands #174: Griff opened to 10,000,000 with A?6? and Tamayo defended the Q?J? to the 9?4?2? flop. Tamayo checked, Griff bet 10,000,000 and received a call. The 9? turn paired the board and brought a second flush draw after which both checked.

That led to the 5? on the river and Tamayo bet 32,000,000, Griff folded.

WSOP Main Event Favorite Niklas "Lena900" Astedt Out in Third Place

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt came into Wednesday's World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event finale as a heavy favorite, but he left with a sour taste in his mouth.

The online poker legend known more affectionately known across the poker world as "Lena900" was the player to beat with three left in poker's world championship event. He had the biggest stack and the most experience playing at such a high level. But he'd make an abrupt exit from the tournament on Day 10 just two spots shy of the $10 million first place prize.

Niklas Astedt Eliminated in 3rd Place ($4,000,000)

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Hand #170- Niklas Astedt raised to 8,000,000 on the button, Jordan Griff three-bet to 28,000,000 in the small blind, and Astedt called.

The flop came 10?9?3? and Griff bet 28,000,000. Astedt called and the J? fell on the turn. Griff then moved all in for 159,000,000.

Astedt asked for a count and ripped off his sunglasses as he stared over at Griff. Leaning on the rail of the table, Astedt spent several minutes in the tank before calling with nearly an identical stack.

Griff showed 9?9? for a set of nines and Astedt instantly grimaced as he turned over K?J? for top pair. Astedt needed a queen to make a straight, but he missed the K? river as the start-of-day chip leader was sent to the rail in third place.

Griff and Jonathan Tamayo are taking a short break while the table is set up for heads-up play.

Level 43 : Blinds 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante

Hand #167: Niklas Astedt raised to 8,000,000 on the button with Q?7? and Jonathan Tamayo defended the big blind holding the J?10?. The K?10?5? flop brought a check-call by Tamayo for 7,000,000 and they checked the K? turn.

The 8? river saw Tamayo bet 24,000,000 and Astedt folded.

Hand #168: Jordan Griff with the A?Q? raised to 8,000,000 on the button and Tamayo three-bet to 24,000,000 in the small blind with the A?Q?. Astedt quickly folded in the big blind and Griff took his time before he declared all-in, Tamayo folded.

Hand #169: Astedt limped the small blind with 9?5? and Griff made it 14,000,000 to go from the big blind with the J?9?, forcing a fold from Astedt and surpassing the Swede by a fraction of the big blind.

Hands #162-164: Astedt and Griff Trade Blows

Level 42 : Blinds 1,500,000/3,000,000, 3,000,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Hand #162: Jordan Griff raised to 7,000,000 on the button with Q?2? and Niklas Astedt called in the big blind. The J?10?2? flop was checked by Astedt and Griff continued for 8,000,000. Astedt called and they headed to the 4? turn. Once more, Astedt checked and Griff fired a second barrel for 20,000,000 for Astedt to call.

The J? river was checked and Astedt won the pot with the 10?6?.

Hand #163: Astedt raised to 10,000,000 out of the small blind and Griff three-bet to 28,000,000 in the big blind. The call by Astedt after brief consideration followed and the second large pot to kick off the day led to the 9?6?5? flop. Astedt checked his option to Griff, who checked it back to the 6? turn.

Another check by Astedt triggered a delayed continuation bet of Griff worth 22,000,000 and Astedt called rather quickly this time.

Both players checked the 4? river and Astedt showed A?8?. Griff, though, had 2?2? to win the pot with two pair.

Hand #164: Griff opened to 10,000,000 in the small blind and Jonathan Tamayo forfeited his big blind.
